18.04.23 Women's Finalissima 2023 During the Easter break, 35 students descended to London to watch the inaugural Women's Finalissima 2023. We knew it was going to be busy as the match was a sell out with 83000 people making their way to Wembley Stadium to support the Lionesses against a strong Brazil team. We managed to find our seats just as the national anthems were being played! The atmosphere was amazing, lots of chanting, singing and drums banging along with a Mexican wave making its way around the stadium several times. Some of us left with croaky voices! At half time, Miss Parsons got out the tattoo transfers. The penalty shoot out to the decide the winners was electric and when Mary Earps (England GK) made her save and Chloe Kelly put away the winning penalty we all went mad. A great experience. Thanks to Mrs Humphrey & Miss Parsons for giving up part of their holiday and to all the students who were brilliant company and a pleasure to take.
