09.12.24 Swindon Christmas Toy Appeal and Y8 visit to Toy Appeal HQ Churches in Swindon once again ran a Christmas Toy Appeal with the aim of bringing a little hope and happiness to local families living in desperate need, so that they can have presents to wake up to this Christmas morning. Following our request to support this appeal, our APS families, along with our TPAT partner schools Orchid Vale and Highworth Warneford plus staff at Nationwide, contributed generously, resulting in an APS minibus full of donations which Miss Bowie and I were delighted to deliver to the Bible Society in West Swindon! On Thursday 5th December, Miss Bowie and I then took a group of eleven Y8 students to meet with Dawn Prosser at the Bible Society in order to support the work of this year's Swindon Christmas Toy Appeal. The chosen students have all been successful in receiving a high amount of APS Reward points this term! The Y8s were exceptional; they worked extremely hard sorting toys into specific age categories for different areas of Swindon and did so with lots of enthusiasm, wearing Christmas jumpers and huge smiles! They were the epitome of APS Proud, receiving R3s for their efforts. We even featured in a snippet about the appeal on Channel 5 News! Due to the generosity of Swindon donors, including our own APS families and TPAT partners, 750 children will benefit from this year's appeal. Thank you for your kindness and generosity again this Christmas, which will benefit local families enormously .
