The Abbey Park School Student Leadership Team, working in conjunction with Swindon City of Sanctuary organised for Abbey Park students to write welcoming messages to refugees and asylum seekers. The messages were written on orange hearts, which represent compassion for people fleeing war, persecution, or violence. It is inspired by the Refugee Nation flag, and the colours of a lifebelt. The heart symbolises hope and kindness.

The images, along with messages from others from all over Swindon have been brought together by Create Studios and are displayed collectively on a large billboard in Old Town with a simple message of 'welcome to all'.

The billboard is in Newport Street if you have time over the festive break to go and see what our students have been able to be a part of.  We are very proud of them.
