We commemorated the 80th Anniversary of VE day at Abbey Park through a number of events. On Thursday 8th May itself, we held took part in the National two minute silence to remember and thank those who fought for our freedom.

Year 7, within their music lessons, learnt the second verse of 'I thou to thee thy Country' along with Lilia who won APS got Talent for the whole school to listen to during tutor time on Thursday.

The Humanities department offered pupils to collect a ration card which allowed pupils to locate rations around the school in exchange of rewards points and a ration token, which got them a free treat from the Epraise shop. In addition to this, the Humanities Student Ambassadors designed a display board and an art competition - we are excited to share next term the winner.

We are proud at Abbey Park that we were able to come together as a school community to unite and celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of Word War II in Europe that so many millions paid the ultimate sacrificed to achieve it.
