On a very wet Monday evening at APS stadium (Aka the Astro), APS girls played their first ever match against slightly stronger local rivals LPA. Everyone was soaked right through before kickoff but this did not deter both teams who looked to attack. Unfortunately, LPA took a commanding 0-3 lead into the break.  The rain continued to pour down and both teams had chances on the wet surface. Daisy Garbutt pulled two goals back and APS were back in the game, but this was short lived as LPA managed to score two further goals extending the lead to 2-5. Most teams would have been a bit dishearten by this score and dropped their heads… not our girls who continued to play and get stuck in. Maisie scored and Daisy grabbed another two goals, but this was not enough, and LPA won 5-8.

Despite the poor conditions,  a good first game with plenty to take forward into our next game.

Team: Ayva T, Daisy, Masie, Emmy, Emily, Kayla, Lacey, Ava S, Eva S
